What Is Hardware Fastener?

According to Finefix's research, Hardware originates from  5 metal materials corresponding to 5 basic colors. Similar to the five basic elements: Yellow, White, Red, Blue and Black equivalent to Copper, Iron, Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Titanium.

Nowadays, metal is widely used, its products are also everywhere and of course we do not need to care about the exact meaning of "Hardware". Therefore, we often understand that hardware are metals that are made into utensils.

It can be said that metal tools, more or less, are always present in factories or in everyone's family, and are indispensable support products, especially for people working in the mechanical industry.

Hardware materials are usually small sized  depending on the tools. They are designed in a variety of types and  installed into machine tools such as lathes and milling machines. , drills, planers, etc. to perform specialized machining functions  such as turning, milling, drilling, boring, planing, tapping, etc. to create and complete details to meet assembly requirements. , manufacturing or repairing machinery and equipment.

The group of hardware tools includes:

Hardware: Door locks, latches, window and door handles, screws, latches, latches,...
Hand tools:
+ Basic hand tools: Pliers, Hammer, saw, screwdriver,...

+ Specialized hand tools: scissors, taps, 1000v insulated tools,...

Other related tools: construction equipment, joints, pipes,...

Hardware tools commonly used today:

1. Types of milling cutters

Milling cutters are popularly used to cut materials such as metal, plastic, wood, etc. Milling cutters have many different types such as ball milling cutters, disc milling cutters,  monolithic milling cutters , etc. Milling cutters usually can be  one to many cutting blades, some milling cutters can install additional inserts, also known as inserts, etc.

The milling cutter has a cylindrical shape made of high-speed steel, used to process flat surfaces made from metal, alloy, HSS high-speed steel, etc. Some types are covered with a special coating to increase the durability of the tip.

2. Bolts

This is one of the most commonly used mechanical products today. its are threaded cylindrical shape,  designed to fit the nut and can be easily removed or adjusted flexibility

Bolts are used to assemble, pair, and link discrete details into a system of blocks and frames. The operating principle of bolts is based on friction between the threads of the bolt and the nut, helping to clamp the parts together.

3. Washer

washer are the common names of this detail. It acts as an intermediary between the nuts and the coupling device in a joint , it does not cause damage to the surface of joined parts.

flat washers: is a type of flat  with a closed, circular structure.
Spring washers, also known as disc springs, are a type of fastener that is designed to provide tension and preload in a joint assembly. They are circular metal washers with a conical shape that provides a spring-like effect when compressed.
Long temple cup: this type is shaped like a cup and has holes in the bottom.
Anti-rotation washers: this type has grooves on the inside and outside edges to help prevent slipping when assembling with bolts and nuts.
In addition, temples are also often classified based on the materials used to make them, specifically the following types: stainless steel temples, aluminum, rubber, serrated, colored temples.

Wood screws

These screws are used in woodworking applications, and come in a variety of head types and sizes. Made with coarse fibers for good grip through wood.

Sheet metal screws

These screws also come in a variety of head types and sizes and full threads along the length of the screw assist in applications involving sheet metal.

Self-tapping screws

Can be used in sheet metal, wood or drywall applications. These screws drill into the material, creating their own holes. Eliminates the need for pre-drilling.

Screw lag

One of the most difficult screws to use today. Used to attach heavy materials such as wood together. They are different from wood screws, sheet metal screws, and self-tapping screws.

MDF screws

MDF screws, also known as fiberboard screws, are often used in applications such as assembling bookshelves. They are often harder than solid wood and are therefore more troublesome to punch holes in, requiring pre-drilling.

Machine screws

Used to tie and hold pre-drilled material in place and used in electrical connections, terminal strips and motor housings.

Board screws

Often used with chipboard, screws are used to hold circuit boards with different densities such as low, medium, and high

Floor screws

Made up of coarse threads and smooth shank just like wood screws. Built to resist rust and corrosion. Aids in fastening floors and is used with pressure treated wood floors.

Screw wisdom

This headless type is used to go all the way into the threaded hole, making it possible to attach details and parts without using nuts.

Ngoài những loại đã kể ở trên thì vẫn còn rất nhiều những ngũ kim khác như: Lục giác, đầu tuýp, thanh ren, tắc kê,...

In addition , there are still many other hardware such as: Hexagons, tube heads, threaded rods, sockets,...

5. countersink

countersink is a cutting tool used to create threads by the thread tapping method. The tap can create both external and internal threads.

Taping tips include the following types:

Based on the chip, taps are divided into cutting taps and compression taps.

The tapping tip creates threads by cutting the material blank and creating chips like normal cutting machining. After creating the chips, they will be pushed out of the hole.
The compression tap creates threads by using pressure to deform the material to shape the thread without creating chips.
Depending on how the tap is used, there are machine taps and hand taps.

Machine taps are used on processing machines such as milling machines, CNC milling machines, tapping drilling machines, specialized tapping machines... including spiral groove taps and straight groove taps (only used for processing through holes).
Hand tapping is the type used manually to tap threads. In the past, hand taps were usually a set of 3 taps: rough taps, semi-finished taps, and refined taps. However, thanks to material technology and improvements in design, the tap taps now only need 1 tap to perform tapping. complete lace
